More drama setting everything back to normal. Gleason refuses the advances of an almost naked Sara? Actually, no, they DO go at it. All is good in the world. 'You're a good man, Patrick Gleason.' Boring AF, but a good man. Right after sex, they get a smoke? No, they solve a case of missing kids. (view spoiler)[It involves paedophiles and magical creatures living in a world where time moves slower. Fun, huh? Great to get back into Sara's world, very good story.
As usual, we get some beautiful artwork from Stjepan Šejić. It looked rushed or unfinished in a few places and sometimes the anatomy of the characters seemed off, something that to me it looks like he fixed in the last years, but in the end it's a treat for the eyes.About the story in this volume, wellwe don't get too much development about the world of witchblade. In the first issue of the volume we get a wrap up to the story from the previous volume/arc "War of the Witchblades". Dani leaves [...]
The art: Not Sejic's best work, but it's still good. I've always liked his style. It can be a little uneven here, with some parts having a lot of detail (e.g. Witchblade armour) and other parts looking rushed (e.g. hair and faces). There are a bunch of really great scenes that look gorgeous. The writing: If you've read Ron Marz's Witchblade before, you'll already know the style and quality. It's a supernatural cop mystery where the protagonist has some supernatural abilities of her own. It's dece [...]
Story-wise, there's a lot of resetting going on, following the War of the Witchblades arc. The adventures feel like they're one-offs, which is nice after long, epic arcs. The second half of the volume slides out of the supernatural, the normal theme for these stories, into a more sci-fi angle (crossing over, it seems, into other parts of the Top Cow universe). As usual, Sejic's art is beautiful, if a little rough in spots.
Not a huge fan of the art, but the story's OK. I liked the last Witchblade series I read better.
Absolutely fantastic artwork as the character is placed in her greatest peril yet.
